Our ministry is based in beautiful Bemidji, MN where we have a heart to see our city, region and the community of Bukibokolo in Eastern Uganda grow and flourish. Rooted in Christ, our core team consists of founder and director, Jenn Karina, co-founder, Jen Kovach, and Office Manager, Barb Hall.

 

Here's how it started...

Jenn Karina took a trip to Kenya in 2009 and found her life to be forever changed.  She returned about a year later to visit Uganda, where she ended up starting a school for children who were at risk of starving or being sold into child labor.

 

This school is now among the highest rated schools in the district and has rescued over 1000 children grades preschool through Secondary 2. All children in the school receive an excellent education, daily meal, and are taught about the love of Christ.

 

In 2011, Jen Kovach joined Hands of Action International, and began her journey  of serving widows, orphans, and those in need of love and hope through this ministry.  We welcomed Barb Hall, our very first Office Manager in 2020! 

 

Their joint love for Jesus, women and children fuels their passion to work harder and harder to share hope and meet the needs of those who are "the least of these".
