CULTIVATING HOPE IN UGANDA
Located in Eastern Uganda up high in the rural mountains is a village called Bukibokolo.
We call it HOME.
In 2012, Jenn Karina, a Minnesota mom, started a school for children who were at risk for being sold into child labor. This school is now one of the highest rated schools in the district and educates, feeds, and shares the love of Jesus Christ to over 1000 children.
Current Projects & Programs
Child Sponsorship Program
Providing Quality Education & Food
In less than 12 years, the school grew from 189 children to more than 1000. Due to the lack of affordable education in the area, many of these children walk 1-2 hours per day, up and down the mountain to receive education and a meal. Often times this is the only meal they get that day.
Our staff has grown from one teacher instructing 189 children under a tree, to a full staff of 62 including a headmaster, teachers, teaching assistants, minister, librarian, cooks, cleaner, and a security guard.
Under Construction: Our Sustainable New School
The land where our school is located was donated by the Khaukha family in 2010 as an investment into their community. With over 1000 students, we are in the process of building a sustainable, permanent structures to replace our mud and tin buildings. Though this has proven to be a long and difficult process, we believe that we will soon be able to raise the funding necessary to complete the construction. Help us by donating to our building fund!
As Mukhobeh Moses Khaukha, the Executive Director of
Hands of Action Uganda says..."Watch the space!"
Women & Girl Empowerment

Did you know that girls who don't have access to feminine hygiene products miss at least 12 weeks of school every year and often end up dropping out? We are teaming up with women in the village to sew kits for every teen girl in our school! In addition to helping girls to stay in school, this also helps prevent the local practice of child marriage because girls are no longer seen as a burden, but as an asset due to getting an education! We plan to expand this program outside of our school because there is so much need. This project empowers girls and provides income for women!
Youth Discipleship Program

We are so excited to announce our new youth discipleship program! Watch for more information as we begin to develop and implement this life changing program for the youth in our school!
Matthew 28:19-20 New International Version (NIV)
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
